that being said, I loooove this stage! kenley is talking even more than before (so, a lot!) and her chattering is actually turning into words!
so a few warnings: 1) I'm doing this from my phone because busy and lazy and at my parent's house and 2) I'm like 14 months behind in her little memory journal so, this is the journal. one day I will catch up... hopefully realllly soon. so if you don't want to read about all the things Kenley can say and do, then that's fine!
words she can say in her own language (which a lot sound a alike):
please, keys, teeth, shoes, this, happy, mommy, lamby, daddy, smoothie, banana, waffle, iPad (I know, I know!), peekaboo, hi, bye bye (so enthusiastically!), bye dad!, thank you, baby, nose, jump, dance, go, uh oh (which is so cute), uh huh, yum, strawberry, mouth, toes, brown bear brown bear, books, blankets, trash, grandma, grandpa, belly button (which sounds like baby, so that could have been potentially awkward before baby announcement), puppy, dog, airplane...and more.
but don't be fooled, you have to know the context otherwise you will miss what she's saying!
Kenley loooooves:
swings, stuffed animals, playing playing playing, giving kisses and Eskimos, playing rough with daddy, avoiding bedtime by being super cute and naming all the body parts she knows, puppies, throwing her food off the table (time out!), pushing things around, coloring, singing (by herself when she plays!), spinning in circles and then falling over, dancing (like stands in front of the sound bar waiting for music), doing airplane (putting her arms like wings), saying prayers (she mutters a prayer when we bless the food or say bedtime prayers), brushing her teeth, helping unload the dishes, flexing her muscles, singing songs with hand motions, playing with friends, pushing her own cart at trader joes, playing at the gym, feeding herself her oatmeal and other messy foods, green smoothies, tomatoes!, oatmeal, eggs (and half the time she ends up eating half of her dad's eggs too), veggie juice, berries and most fruits, and there are a million other loves but that's quite enough and all I can think of right now.
she is missssss independent! she doesn't care if we take her to a friend's or to the gym or to nursery. she just says "bye bye!" like, see ya mom. this is my place.
she understands a lot! she's really good at following directions, and has been for a few months now. we ask her to get her shoes or "take this to mommy" or whatever and she will help. within reason of course, but for the most part she will listen and do it.
she is very sweet and so funny. it has been quite the privilege to be this girl's mother and so lucky to have her father by my side raising her.
kenley, 18 months suits you well!
