bye bye

kenley finally started saying bye bye about a month ago. before, she would wave and occasionally try and say it. something clicked when we were on our first of three flights to california before steven and i went on our trip. she said bye bye to almost everyone walking past us to get on the plane at our first stop. it was so cute and of course, people got a kick out of it. 

now she says it allll of the time. bye bye also means "go away" or "leave me alone" to her. when she's playing and wants me to leave she will look up wih her big blue eyes, smile and say "bye bye" in her tiny girly voice while. 

this morning, she was sitting with her daddy in the rocking chair and wanted me to leave the room so she could be with just him, and she waved and said bye bye!

but my absolute favorite so far (this week, really that she's been using bye bye as a go away mom), yesterday she was trying to eat her oatmeal and was very frustrated for some reason and was mad at me. she was trying to eat it by herself, which is her preferred method hear days as evidenced by the above picture, and she would get frustrated with her spoon or something. i walked over to help her and through her tears she turned and said bye bye, bye bye. it was so sad and so cute. she just wanted to do it by herself. she figured it out and was fine, until she got frustrated again and I asked from the kitchen if she wanted help, and same thing, a teary bye bye.  i wish i had that cute sad bye bye recorded. 

and then she took a bath.
