the pregnancy diaries: week 38

another week, another bathroom self-portrait.  steven isn't patient with me taking the bump photos and i am too picky and too camera shy, so it just doesn't work.  but bathroom photos? totally working for me.

these days, i go to bed thinking, "maybe tonight?!"
i'm just so anxious to meet this baby!  um, also to have my body back.
and would you look at that thing? it is huge.

steven is pretty anxious, too.  he keeps telling me to pack my hospital bag.  well, i just don't feel the need yet.  i have the braxton hicks contractions, and sometimes a little crampy {tmi? sorry.} but not much else is showing much progress in the labor department.  that's okay.  it could just happen.
i really hope this baby comes this weekend.  steven's parents will be in town for his graduation, and then my mom is coming up for some mother-daughter bonding / help with the transition to motherhood / help with all the changes going on in me / cook some delicious meals for us {which steven is most excited about!}. it would be perfect.  did you hear that baby? this weekend?!

i told steven that the reason i haven't packed my hospital bag yet is because i don't want to get my hopes up.  it would be like me saying "i'm ready" when baby isn't.  but really, i am ready. i'm so ready! except for the hospital bag and the fact that i haven't washed any blankets or onesies yet, but like i said, i don't want to get my hopes up for an early arrival.  doctor is inducing me may 6th, and i would prefer not to be induced, so come on baby!!

and here is a little photo of steven and i watching finn the other night.  he just rests on my belly. but then, oh! then, steven wanted to hold him.  and he did almost the whole time they were gone {which was less than an hour and a half}. but i didn't mind because he was sooo sweet with him!  my heart was melting--so precious!  i can't wait to see him with his own little girl!  oh, and then yesterday he was laying on the floor playing with our friends little 7 month old girl.  so precious!  

we are so excited! hurry baby, hurry!! {but, be healthy, so if that means waiting, then we will.  but try to be healthy and hurry!}
