okay, more like 39.5 weeks. seriously? baby is due may 4th, but i'm pretty sure she is holding out until may 6th when i will be induced. perhaps she will be kind and come before then. even if it is an hour before we are scheduled to be at the hospital.
| naked belly!! @ 39 weeks. it was dark out. |
pros and cons of being induced {before actually being induced or going through any sort of labor}:
pros:
* no more guessing--i know when the end will be
* mothers can buy their plane tickets
* we know when our last meal will be {sunday. but do i really want to cook?! i'm feeling a crock pot creation.}

* drugs pumping through my veins
* pitocin = intense contractions {without a build up}
* i know when it is going to happen
* no spontaneous water breaking at home {or elsewhere} or contractions getting really close together sending us to the hospital
i'll let you know how it goes. really, i'm excited either way. and it's just the end of a big belly, or being pregnant. it's the beginning of a new life--our first baby. and we are so excited. if i were a first grader writing in my first grade journal, i would say, "i am so so so so so so so so (3 lines of so's) excited for my baby to come!!" or i guess if i were actually a first grader in my first grade class, i would add, "i hope mrs. hopper has her baby in class! that would be osum / asim / asem ...{you get the point}." because that's what they tell me almost everyday.
tomorrow is my last day of teaching....ever!! {unless i decide to go back or need to go back at some point. probably no to the former.} it's a pretty bitter sweet thing. my class this year has been so sweet and so supportive--students and their parents. more than half my class has brought a little gift in for the baby.
erin sends pictures of her and finn like this and it makes my heart all achey for this litttle girl to come!
plus, finn is so dang cute!
and the huge 39 week bump. dang, girl.
