the pregnancy diaries: week 29

erin, emily, and i flew home for president's weekend for a baby shower dana and sara put on for us {my mom did a ton of work too [ie, food prep and food coordinating] and it was at our home, but she wants to stay in the background}. {sara is sister no. 4--bridesmaid in our weddings and honorary aunt.}

we also threw a baby shower for erin later that same afternoon for all of her friends in california.  let me tell you--this pregnant gal was all showered out for one day! it was a lot of fun and so good to see so many people that i love.  we are so grateful for the love and support we have from so many friends.  this baby girl is so loved already.

week 29:
not much has changed, other than the fact that i am slowly petering out. the energy supply is hit or miss.  today was a definite miss.  and monday.  but that's also because sometimes the sleep is a huge miss.
also...hello memory? are you there? can you hear me? who am i talking to again?
yeah.  the memory is shrinking even more. wah waaaaaah.

as for le bebe:
flips & turns, kicks & punches, wiggles & squirms, stretches & vinyasas
this girl is a mover, except when i want someone to feel it. she gets a little stage fright, like her mother. and apparently she is the size of a butternut squash this week, but let's go with some numbers here: around 17 inches, and about 3 pounds.
she'll get a little longer, but mostly just fatten up.
her brain is getting those cerebral sulci and gyri {gee, i loved that anatomy class!} so she'll come out just as smart as her parents...well, her dad at least {not her pregnant mother}.

and now for some photos from the weekend
{in which i missed my husband dearly, but had so much fun, but pregnancy made me miss him even more than usual. we're so in love.}

do we look tired? because we were. shopping all day. and not enough sleep!

steven had been asking me for months to take a picture in front of the big belly deli down in newport beach. we've never actually eaten there even though it's supposed to be good and it's so close. it's on his list next time we're there.
the instagram...

and the original.

how could i have passed this up? it was on super sale at gap and the only one left.  it's a newborn size, so she won't be wearing it too long.  which means i'll do laundry every day so she can wear it every day.  loft goals, but i'm trying to brainwash her early. but really, this girl is going to love her veggies.
home again, home again. jiggity jig.
{and a hot tuesday night date with steven! ow ow!}
