5 things i'll miss about summer

i have 3 days left of summer {which, inevitably, will be spent prepping for the school year, so my summer is pretty much over. actually, that's pretty much all i did last week, so really,  it was over the second i stepped off that plane from california a week and a half ago. minus or fun dates that weekend.}

via my instagram last week
1. temple trips.
not that i can't go during the school year, but i have less free time. i love going with steven, but there's something nice about going to the temple solo once in awhile {or *almost* all of summer because your babe is gone 6am-7pm and then works when he gets home, too}.

{and one of the few self-portraits you will see of me on here because i.don't.like.self.portraits. at all.}
 2. morning yoga
seriously, *almost* every morning i practice yoga. 15 minutes to an hour. just depends on the day. some days it's a class, but most days it was just me in my living room with my ujjayi breathing. i was also able to attend some pretty awesome classes this summer from studio teachers subbing for a maternity leave teacher at my gym.  my saturday morning teacher is awesome, but it's more of a beginner class and i've been doing yoga since i was a junior in high school {not that i am any sort of pro. because, remember, yoga is a practice. and yoga is not easy stretching stuff like most people think.} i love love love yoga. when my boo gets a full-time job, i'll be joining a yoga studio. maybe teaching yoga is in the future?? i'd love to do the training.
okay, and seriously, i can and still do yoga during the school year, but it's more like 3 each surya namaskar a + b in the morning and hopefully 3 more + headstand and stretches at night. {you guys, i love yoga. and i want everyone to love yoga. it's so good. for so many reasons. oh, i'll save it for another time.}

3. warm lemon water
first thing i do when i wake up most mornings. why i do it here. and a how-to//why here.

4. sleeping in...until 7 or 7.30am.
i know, i know. for most people that is considered waking up early, but for me, 5//5.30 am is early for me {like i used to do last year when i went to the gym before school, or like steven is doing for work now}. and 6//6.30 am is around the time i wake up in the school year, so 7//7.30 am now is great. and sometimes, i even sleep until 8 am or a sporadic 9 am on sundays. now that is delicious.

5. freedom.
pure freedom. like, nothing i really have to do. if it didn't get done one day...oh well! i did it the next, despite giving myself total guilt and then having to pep-talk myself or have steven give me a pep-talk that i'm not the worst person in the world for leaving the laundry in the dryer for two days.  and freedom to read books and nutrition articles {favorites here and here} and {especially} deepen my faith and experiment with new recipes and all other things that i love to do. free time gets seriously squashed during the school year and i like to spend the free time i have with my steven {and my almost daily workout}.

so there you have it. 5 things i'll miss about summer...plus my babble with it all because, you know me, i am not a woman of few words.
