updates with photos from my iPhone VII

last week:
we picked up my christmas present
[1/2 from steven, 1/2 from the hoppers.]
juicer. that means vegetable juices.
LOVE it.
like, obsessed with it.
saw my mom's in july and was dying for my own.
best part? steven loves it too.
nutritious [like ultimate nutrition] and delicious.
so far, our favorite combo is something like this:
cucumber, beet, cabbage, celery, carrots, ginger, zucchini, tomato, spinach, kale, an orange and/or apple and/or lemon.
seriously, it's so good. i add a teensy bit of stevia to sweeten it up and a little bit of water {like a 1/4 cup for about 3 cups juice}.
i've been juicing every day.  i wish i could twice a day, but it's just too darn expensive to buy all of those veggies.
more on juicing:
here, here, and here [mom let me borrow this book--lots of good juicing for health recipes]

i was a little sick last week. [hence the little hiatus between posts.] steven made me take a day off. i was pretty stubborn about it, but then i decided to listen to my husband. it was good.

love this boy. this is his, "are you taking another picture of me?" face/pose. sometimes i just can't help it.
steven was working on his 20 page paper all week--staying up late. he'd come home from work [above], take off his coat, roll up his sleeves, and get to work.

saturday
it was unusually "warm" here in provo the last week. 45 degrees! it even got up to 50 one day!! it was all too good to be true. strike that. it was true, but too good to last. i woke up to snow on saturday morning. and i so hate that it's still dark at 7 and even 7.30 am.

went to yoga after a 2 week in az hiatus.
saw this on pinterest. best bird of paradise i've ever seen. i just need to get my darn leg even more flexible.

katie and kyle came over for game night on saturday.  we miss them. move back to utah, please.

monday
monday morning. right before school started. just so you know--last week was cah-razy coming back from break + i was sick + we had reading benchmarks thursday [2 subs in a row]. this week is no better. my kids are so crazy. chatty class + too many low kids + too many behavior problem kids + a few non-task completer kids = pulling my hair out!

we did get this done though [this is the almost done board...i added the non-task completer kids up later and a some snowflakes.] it's so cute.

steven and i went to malawi's pizza at the riverwoods in provo yesterday. if you know us, you know steven loves pizza and i am extremely picky about pizza [i.e., only if it's homemade on a whole wheat crust {trader joe's}, is loaded with veggies and not loaded with cheese, or if it's a gourmet pizza, as pictured below.] verdict? it's really good. all their pizzas are on a whole wheat crust, but you can get gluten-free, which is what i got and it was so good. they use fresh ingredients and it's not over-cheesed and grease-bombed. and, it's like tom's shoes...buy a pizza and they feed a child in malawi! i'm pretty philanthropic when i eat, yeah?
close up of my bbq chicken pizza, and non-close up of steven's capri [which is what i was my other choice, but since steven got it, naturally i went with the bbq chicken].

and another snowman activity we've done so far this week.
choose a snowman. write a friendly letter to the snowman.
this is what one boy wrote...
translation:
Dear Snowman,
I hope you are still alive cause you have 'x' eyes.  Cause you really do.  You have a heart! I want to eat your nose.  It is a snowman nose!  P.S. you should have a Broncos hat.
Love,
Jake

Tuesday
last day tutoring. so sad. like, a bunch of more time, but so sad. i'm anxious for summer when i'll tutor my little kindergartner girl again.  also, since she goes to my school, i'm totally campaigning for her to be in my 1st grade class next year.

thursday is parent teacher conferences.  what?!  again?!
that's alright...it means i get friday off, plus the monday holiday, and tuesday i have "spa" day, meaning i get a sub so i can go observe a seasoned teacher. i'm pretty pumped.
