a few thoughts of mine / updates. followed by photos from my iPhone (VIII edition).
1. steven is still worlds best husband. you'll see exhibit 2573567 below. he is soooo busy working, studying, networking. and networks. all for our future fam. how's that for sacrifice? love, love, love him. oh, and he still takes me on dates.
2. i was slightly down in the dumps last week because of my darn class. and by down in the dumps i mean s-t-r-e-s-s-e-d. i've got all sorts of low kids, behavior problems, etc. "first grade is the hardest grade to teach," i seriously hear that all the time. guess what? i totally agree. but i totally love it. and am so pumped for the new things i'll be doing in my classroom beginning these next two weeks. we started a new behavior plan on thursday and so far, so totally good (but also, my worst behavior problem had been absent those 2 days...so yeah.) sorry to my sweet kiddos that it is my first year in first and they are my guinea pigs, but they are still learning lots!
3. i have cold feet. literally.
4. i love lounging in leggings. and by lounging i mean sitting on the floor watching a movie, cutting out lamination / preparing activities for my kids. color, cut, glue--whatever it is. yahoo. leggings make it so much better.
5. um, what the spring?! yeah, the weather finally dropped last weekend and the beginning of the week and then...went back up! this big snow storm that was supposed to roll in on wednesday, well...it's saturday and all we've had is rain. rain in january?! plus our 40 degree temperatures?! such a march/spring thing, but hey...if we skip winter this year i would be ONE HAPPY CAMPER!
6. emily bought her wedding dress last week. SO excited!
7. i've been m.i.a. because i am a) taking care of my boo, b) stressing big time, c) trying to de-stress, d) making lots of cool things for school, e) just doing stuff.
now for some pictures.
in no particular order (because i am too lazy to change them).
some of my new math centers. don't worry. i only cut out a gazillion of those. also, i wish my school had a color printer that i could print a ton of things off of and not just like 2. and that they would let us use cardstock in our printers. yeah, that would have saved me like 2 hours. and those darn things would like so much cuter like they do on the computer.
ummm yeah. remember how my dad is like hilarious? erin was so right...funniest thing yet. even more funny than "there's just something about a blanket!" check out the full story of the above quote here.
we went to GS last night because we only had to buy 1 before getting one free, so pretty much the best husband in the world, steven, agreed! i didn't even have to talk him into it!! and when we got there, it was 50% if you bought a topping, so we saved the free one since it would have been the same price. which means...we'll be going again soon? hopefully.
gym time. 5.15 am. remember how i went on monday morning at like 9 or 10 and it was so crazy busy and i had to wait for a treadmill. okay, it was a holiday but still. i so prefer early morning. same people every morning.
one of my students got me a flower bulb in a box for christmas. what the bulb? i planted it right before we went to az and it grew so fast, because it was already like half grown, so it bloomed so fast. first one then two, now three with a fourth that will be open tomorrow. SO beautiful!!
early monday morning temple session with steven. favorite place to be.
one of my green juices. sometimes they are orange. sometimes like magenta (beets). so good.
i came home from my parent teacher conference last thursday (another reason i was m.i.a. last week) to this surprise from steven! flowers! and then, he really wanted me to make him a hamburger and wanted me to get it out of the freezer. sike! he just wanted me to see the golden spoon he had hiding in there!! (hence the odd shape, from the lid).
just read it. dad's racing gear.
ha. saw that on pinterest. so true. erin said, "remember when you fell off? I won that time." yes, it's true. back in spring of 07 or 08 i totally fell off the tread.
that's all folks. i need to do some more research on teacher blogs and get back to my cutting and pasting and cutting lamination and ahh! oh, and then it's date night.
