2. i feel slightly dizzy right now. lack of sleep + hard 5.15 am workout + noisy classroom + almost lunch time = slightly dizzy me.
3. we are writing "how to catch a turkey" steps right now. well, the kiddos are. here's my favorite:
first: call satuclos.
[Call Santa Claus.]
next: tell satuclos call rotof.
[Tell Santa Claus to call Rudolph.]
last: tell rotof to kik the trke.
[Tell Rudolph to kick the turkey.]
3.5. very clever, eh? i thought it was hilarious. plus, yesterday during our Thanksgiving pow-wow, we went around and said all of the things we were thankful for. this particular student said he was thankful for santa claus.
4. i'm going to dc tomorrow. <30 hours.
5. my class is so funny. they think i'm the best teacher ever because i let them use crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers on their thank you cards. i think that secures my nominee for teacher of the year, no?
6. all of first grade watched charlotte's web this afternoon. and they had popcorn. it was a great break for me.
7. thanksgiving meal is my favorite meal of the year. needless to say, i'm pretty pumped. unfortunately, i know there won't be any good kendrick/g.ma/price/galloro cooking like homemade orange rolls, aunt julie's sweet potato orange cups, g.ma's mashed potatoes, and all that other good stuff. i'm sure dc won't disappoint, but if it's a store bought pumpkin pie that's not from costco, i will be so sad. pumpkin pie is always my assignment.
8. i didn't have a piece of pumpkin pie on my birthday this year. but, natalie did take me out for pumpkin gingerbread cheesecake. close enough.
9. i haven't even had a piece of pumpkin pie yet! although, i have had pumpkin pie golden spoon or farr's [from em] and i mix plain yogurt + pumpkin + cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg + stevia for breakfast like every morning. so delicious and nutritious. put that on my banana pancakes, and i'm good to go.
10. you know how i am obsessed with spaghetti squash? yeah, it's so good. and you know how it's a vegetable? well, a fruit in the veggie family [seeds inside]. anyway, cauliflower is a vegetable and it makes really good "mashed potatoes". i love how veggies can be substituted for foods we love. google a recipe. i just added some spices to mine, but if you really wanted to go to town , then you can add all the other junk [sour cream, cream cheese, butter, etc.]
11. i think that's good. oh wait, one more thing. i'm going to dc tomorrow to visit my husband who's been gone for 3 months. and he comes back on december 9th so i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited. i miss him. a lot.
