i will tell you.
steven really really really (x10) wants me to learn golf. so we can play when we're older, so we can spend time together, perhaps so he can play more often. since he's gone a lot with work, we don't really have a lot of opportunity to practice. we have a small hitting bay at our complex neighborhood place, so we've gone a few times to practice.
we also have a ton of squirrels around (which, who would have thought dallas, texas has a ton of squirrels?? and green trees, for that matter.) so this one squirrel, pictured, decided to just hang out with us for awhile. he (because, all squirrels are "he" according to me) actually got pretty close to kenley when she was sitting on a blanket playing. then he got pretty close as steven was standing with her. i kind of freaked out, because i pictured a flying squirrel just attacking one of us in the face. arms and legs extended and just launching itself at one of us.
so none of that happened. kenley went back to playing and we went back to hitting. and the squirrel just stayed there, running around. then steven said he'd get rid of it and i told him not to hit it with the golf ball. so he hit it right next to it. but that didn't scare it really, it just continued to move around. but then i hit it! oops. i'm not the best golfer, so i don't have a whole lot of control over where the ball goes. so, sorry squirrel.
good news is it lived and ran away. and i hope i didn't break his leg causing him to be one of the squirrel corpses on the side of the road. and if i did, i am really sorry.
