dallas days: dallas arboretum [and botanical gardens]

while my parents were in town, we hit up the arboretum.  i've really been wanting to go.  steven? not so much.  we ended up getting a pass so we {ahem, kenley and i} can go anytime throughout the year.  the best part is, the pass is not confined to steven and i as the two adults, so i can take a friend, which is most likely what will happen.  we'll just drag steven along for the holidays.

fall at the arboretum is so fun.  it's all decked out in pumpkins with these fun little pumpkin huts in the pumpkin patch.  i didn't take any pictures of that because it was our last stop and we were all hungry, kenley included, so you know, get out fast.

we didn't see a ton of flowers either because, well, it's fall.  i'm really excited to go in the spring and summer when the flowers are in full bloom.  i love flowers so so so so so much.  side note:: i wish i could have my wedding bouquet on the table fresh every day. it was sooooo gorgeous.

other things we did see at the arboretum:
*texas pioneer days recreation {in which we had a photo shoot}
*lots of trees
*two separate girls all decked out for the quincinera photo shoot. pretty sure they were more done up than i was at my wedding and definitely more than any homecoming//prom i went to.
*two brides also taking photos.
*AND...my favorite...a 15ish year old girl making a music video to the song "unwritten." like, camera crew {maybe her uncle and friend or something}.

steven and i each stuck our head out a window.  annnnd the wind blew the shutter closed on his.  it was hilarious.

kenley loves LOVES being outdoors and looking at all of the plants. and touching them.  actually, more like death gripping them.

 so when steven pulled away from this bush, her death grip pulled the little berries right off.

she studied them, like she does with everything.

then she tried to eat it.  whoa, no! i think those are poisonous.
