so it's wednesday and I just noticed I never posted this. boo.
1. we spent Labor Day at the outlets, tis the hopper thing to do. I was not shocked when steve said he wanted to go. hey, a husband who likes shopping more than I? mmmm, okay!
2. took baby girl to the dr to make sure her cough and congestion weren't contagious since we would be staying with her cousin Finn. just a cough. but look at those rolllls! only cute on a baby!
3. still working on the whole crib thing. some days are great. some days are not so great.
4. i spent wednesday - sunday in utah. missed all of my family and friends out there. we did a lot! kenley and i flew in wednesday morning and hung out with erin and finn for a couple of days {and mike, when he wasn't working}. friday, we picked up lunch and ate with em, excuse me, mrs. miller, in her classroom. seeing those little first graders made me miss teaching. i also went to visit my old school and loved it {see no.7}. steve flew in friday night and we spent all day in provo on saturday visiting friends and family and then went to the byu v. ut game with some guys from steve's office. some went to byu and some went to university of texas, so byu's win was like extra great. utah was fun. until next time.
5. hey, our dryer is working. it hasn't worked since, um, never.
6. Finn rolls all over the place. he is so dang cute!! I think they liked playing together. they are starting to notice each other more now.
7. there was this really difficult student i had in my class last year. the whole school thought he was challenging and i was constantly praised for how i handled him and asked how i did it, and how i did it while being pregnant. my answer? i love that kid. hands down, he was my favorite student in my 3 short years teaching. and i miss him. on friday, i only visited my teacher friends. i didn't want kenly to be around all of the kids. she was being exposed to so many germs just being in the school. long story short, we were able to walk out just a minute before the bell rang. but then i saw this kid's mom right by where we parked and i started talking to her and she was holding kenley and she told me her son was so sad when he found out i wouldn't be his teacher for 2nd grade. and she said her son would want to see me. of course, i wanted to see him, too. he took awhile to come out of of the school but when he did, he didn't see his mom across the little street right away and yelled, "where's my mom!?" then he saw her and waved. then he saw me and yelled, "MRS. HOPPER!!!!!" and ran over and gave me the biggest hug. tears. i had a few tears in my eyes. i miss him. sweetest little boy.
annnnnnnd, that's a wrap.
