sunday seven

welcome to today's edition of "sunday seven" featuring, paparupa.
mammoth 2011.  my mom's face sums up all of our reactions to this photo shoot of dad.  probably sometime after he reenacted his imitation of bear grylls from mammoth 2008.  classic.
1.  my dad had a bday on friday.  he's the man.  and he is so funny.  you will find a few scattered pictures of him, or paparupa as we call him, throughout this post.  also, i don't know what all of the grandparents are going to be called, but grandpa randy will probably be "paparupa".  do you want to know how he got that time?  oh you don't really care?  well i will tell you anyway.  back in the days where us girls were gamers, like our "no fun til the work is done" // 20 minutes max playstation days, we had crash bandicoot.  and in one of the levels crash had to defeat this island warrior fat king guy named papu-papu {i think that was his name--pretty sure}.  anyway, dad became known as paparupa.
2.  steven spent the bulk of saturday working on his online biology 100 class that he has to have finished by april 5th to graduate and that he started, oh, a week ago?  don't worry--he is 1/4 of the way done and only has 3 more tests.  but, remember how he did his entire accounting 200 online class in january in 10 days? and still got an a?
i spent the bulk of saturday nesting.  FINALLY.  i sewed things i've been wanting to sew for awhile. i made a car seat cover {grey}, nursing shawl {dark grey--just looks like folded up fabric}, and 6 super absorbent burp cloths.  and now today, i am working on baby mittens and a hooded towel.  i love little projects like this, especially since they are for baby girl!
male model? no...just dad.  emily's wedding almost 1 year ago--may 2012.
3. steven loooooves basketball.  and march madness?  heaven.  our friday night date was picking up dinner {not even going out!} and watching march madness.  it only happens once a week, so i embrace it with him.  i even filled out a bracket.  last he checked, i was beating him...barely.
erin's husband, mike, has an entire photo album dedicated to "sleeping randy." this guy works so hard.  he just sleeps when he can.  i think dana captured this one.  sometimes we just go through the sleeping randy album.  great fun.

4. sometimes i accidentally hit "b" at the end of my text messages instead of the . button and then i hit send.  so it looks like i'm calling that person a b word.  i'm not.  i'm sorry if you have felt victimized by this.
5.  annnnd, i was too lazy to turn this, so please cock your head to the left.  i found this photo in my phone and died.  a journal entry from one of my hilarious boys last year {the one who called me "hot, not hot like the weather, hot like you're pretty."  and who i caught with his fly down like 5 times and he always said, "oh how embarrassing!"  miss that kid in my class.}.  i had him show me his journal and i said, "bud, you spelled mario right! and you wrote the word "do" like 25 times!  so glad you know how to spell it, but we want to write 3 sentences!"  to which he responded, "no, it's the mario song.  you know, 'do-do-do-do-do-dodo'." and sang the mario theme song to me.  bless that child's heart.

6.  i have baked potatoes in the oven.  i had to text my mom how to make them.  laaame!  apparently i've never made them, so i just wanted to make sure i got the oven temp right.  turns out when i texted her i asked how to make "naked baked potatoes".  she still hasn't responded {i got smart and just googled it}, but i'm sure she will be thinking..."whaaaat?" and a little disclaimer here: i am a pretty darn good cook.  ask my boo.
wallsburg is where dad wants to live.  he's only seen it in non-winter, so i think he'd change his mind.  it's 18 miles up the canyon and is where i started my marathon. we drove the marathon path the day before and he fell in love.  but who wouldn't?  provo canyon late spring is green and gorgeous!
7.  speaking of marathons.  i want to do another.  but, not this year.  i thought about doing a half, but i'm kind of a "go big or go home" girl sometimes and that just wouldn't cut it.  but then i thought about all of the time i put into training. hours. and hours. and i think i'd rather spend it with my husband and baby. but then again, i won't be in school 8am-5pm everyday like i was last time, so maybe. but maybe a half is the way to go because i like mixing up my workout.
