first off, welcome 3rd trimester! i don't know how many people say that {and mean it} because that's when things start to go down hill again. 2nd trimester is really the only trimester welcomed, but hey, i'll take all 3 just to bring this sweet baby girl into the world soon.
this is what has been going on with me + baby:
the "booo"s:
::CRAZY dreams. like, our babies foot popping out of my belly, under skin still. wait, did i say foot? i meant leg. yes, i dreamed her leg was dangling out, but still in the skin. needless to say, i checked my belly when i woke up. and other dreams that are just so random and out there.
::accompanying those dreams, night sweats. it gets really hot with that big body pillow. and then i get cold from sweating. so i guess my body's natural reaction of sweating to cool me down is working. congrats, bod. you're doing so much.
::outtie? almost! half of my belly button has popped. the other half is just about even with the rest of my belly. it will go back...it will go back...it will go back. also, i have a limited view of my feet. see photo below.
::sleep? what? pregnancy sure gets you ready for no sleep! although, i would much rather wake up to feed or soothe a baby than because i have a big belly in the way and can't get comfortable. or can't breathe. maybe i'm speaking too soon, but i have a feeling i am not alone in this thought?
::speaking of breathing...um, sometimes this is a hard thing for me depending on how i am sitting or laying. it's pretty rough. really.
the "yay!"s:
::we celebrated our 100th day of school a couple of weeks ago. meaning, the year is more than half year over. meaning, baby will be here sooner than later. {and, did i mention, i'm retiring?! happy//sad. mostly happy because i get to be with my baby!}
::erin, emily, and i are flying home for a joint baby shower for baby santiago + baby hopper. little boy and girl! first grandbabies! things are getting more real. like, buying stuff for the baby means she can actually come and be ours!
::this girl is moving like crazy. visible movements. she has started tumbling classes. still into yoga and kick boxing. a little jab here, little sun salutation there. it's so fun. just the other day i rested a book on my belly as i looked at something real fast and she told me quickly with three little jabs that i was invading her personal space. also, i felt a foot or hand or knee or elbow or something on friday night! she was moving just above my belly button {also the place she didn't want my to rest that book} and i put my hand there to feel it. next thing i knew it was this hard little angular thing in just one spot. and then i had to use the restroom and that must have made more room for her because then she was gone. but then she was doing somersaults in that vicinity last night.
::baby is supposedly around 16 inches long and a little over 2 lbs. that means she'll grow anywhere from 2-6 more inches {probably like 3 inches for our baby...shorties over hurrrrr} and gain around 4-5 pounds. and what to expect is comparing her size to a cauliflower? last week it was a cucumber? how are those even remotely the same, other than the fact that they are both vegetables? cauliflower--big ball. cucumber--oblong oval. we'll just go with it though.
::yesterday, steven's parents ordered us the stroller that we really wanted. THANK YOU! i am so excited! it should get here tuesday or wednesday. i also ordered a birthing prep book and the diaper bag i've had my eye on for the past 4 months. it is so cute. and my parents are getting us a glider, so we are going to go try some out when i'm home next weekend. there are way too many with mixed reviews online and i get a headache every time i start researching them. this will be an exciting week--we'll finally have more "things" for our baby!
and now for some pictures. today i took my weekly picture while steven was taking a nap after church. so, it's my first bathroom mirror shot. holla! also, the other ones are in our extra room that stores pretty much everything, including the mirror that hasn't been hung in 3 years {bought it when i was single}. which also means my face is probably not there or looking like i'm concentrating really hard {because i am}. which also means, poor quality. enjoy the bump. it's so big.
