pictures from my iphone. {version unknown. XI?}

some pictures from my week at home.
oh, yeah, and you know how this is the hopper family blog? and i'm the one that writes on it? and my other half doesn't write on it...or maybe even look at it? yeah. that's okay. that's why i'm telling about my week at home.

first. our hopper fam. matt just got back from his mission and is looking pretty sharp there with his mexican flag pin on his lapel.  ole! the rest of us, obviously, look pretty darn good.

my dad has this picture in his scriptures. erin in the pink and me with my hand in my mouth. visiting g.ma when she lived in walnut creek. and we would take BART into downtown san francisco. miss those days. let's go back?

 and these are treats at grandpa's. stored in the oven. and in the same ole' candy drawer with the same kinds of gum since we were wee little ones. dana was obviously trying to sneak some.

and we visited grandpa. gosh that guy is so funny! we ran into a neighbor around the corner on our walk and grandpa couldn't remember his name. so he asked. it's mario. so grandpa starts saying,  "mario, mario!" with an italian accent. which is fitting, because grandpa is 100% italian, although his parents immigrated to america, so he's never actually lived there. but he is just a sweet little italian man. "mario, mario!!" "alright, see ya, mario!"

i owed dana some golden spoon. why? because i'm the team leader for my 1st grade team this school year. which means, i had to make the walmart run. i HATE walmart. i end up going a lot at the beginning of the school year because it's great for school supplies and right down the street from my school, so you know, sometimes i have to go. but i really have to go for my team for various reasons. so i took dana along. and had her count out like 300+ folders and then 150+ boxes of crayons and all this other junk. then we went to my school and brought it all in on a little rolly thingy and let's just say that we lost a few things a few times. it was a little wobbly, that tower we built. and then we sorted it out.  then we moved some desks and i talk too much to the other teachers. so i owed her golden spoon...a week later.

you see that? that is some fabric. and with my mom as teacher, i sewed it into a skirt. voila!
please ignore my face. steven snapped it on our way out to church that started in 5 minutes. don't worry, we were totally 1, maybe 2 minutes early.
i think it turned out pretty nicely. after all, perfectionist momma and mostly perfectionist daughter / mom's twin, plus mom's serger to finish all the seams nicely and there you have it. i even put in an invisible zipper. is that hard? i don't know. it's more difficult than a normal zipper, but it's not like i've done one of those.
and i bought more fabric to make another skirt. i just need a sewing machine. and if i get that, maybe a serger, too?

going home. in my stripes. i'm obsessed with that skirt. target. jersey. striped. could it get any better? no.

and then steven and i went tubing//floating down the provo river yesterday. oh my fun. and relaxing. and we pretty much floated 6 miles down solo. maybe i'll share that story another time. maybe i'll just let you make up your own. just know, we had fun. and it was so nice to have a date night on friday night and date day on saturday! we've had family in town and been out of town and even apart {only 5 days} for the past month.  date night was kind of non-existent. but it's back. don't you worry. and we have plans. big plans.
