well, here it is. part I of my classroom makeover. i had an ocean theme for 2 years. and i had this wonderful vision for my reading corner. then i explained that vision to katie as i asked for her skills to help out. she asked if she could take it and run with it. so i let her {and didn't have to do anything but pay for the fabric!!} and this is what she came up with:
i know, it's awesome. {and this was taken last summer after i moved it from my first classroom to my new classroom. which is why the books are everywhere.}
my mom let me take a bunch of pinwheels and triangle banners from emily's wedding decorations. em had a vintage carnival theme, which obviously meant i needed to change all of my classroom decorations. this is so much better because now i just have 3 colors {plus their variations} that i need to keep as a theme rather than those ocean things {which i was sick of, sorry marine biologists}.
so this is what i came up with for the reading corner--part of a carnival tent. good thing you can't see it too closely, because it's a little bit skiwompus. plus, just so you know, there is a ton of hot glue holding that thing up. kind of totally jimmy-rigged it.
and yes, i covered all of the pillows, too.
here is the non-instagrammed version.
remember these pom poms from emily's bridal shower? yeah. same ones.
annnnd....my school was having their summer buy-one-get-one-free book fair this week. i only bought 4 books. $10 for 4 brand new books?! i couldn't resist {but i did resist buying 20 others}.
more classroom photos
to come. it's time
to get crackin' on that
classroom!!
