*also, if you don't
want sap, i suggest
you just skip
this post. just this
once.
yesterday was just one of those days. actually, it started on tuesday night. my boo was exhausted, and after we read scriptures together and prayed together, he crashed and i sat in the hallway to finish a chapter in the third hunger games book, mockingjay. {which, by the way, i finished today. mixed feelings. i'll spare you.}
after i finished and went to bed, i snuggled up next to that sweet man of mine and was overwhelmed with so much love for him. {here's where the sap starts.} i am so grateful for him. just so grateful. and he works so hard. my love for him grows each day, but yesterday it exploded and grew like 24987 times, or probably more. and then after a long day at work {like 11 working hours and 2+ hours of commuting}, he came home and i had dinner ready for him {the least i can do} and then we went to the driving range. and i'm no good, but yesterday i was really no good. and he didn't have a great day either. let's just say that there were a few times you could see a ripple going through the net that makes the range. whoops. we came home and he suggested we watch some of so you think you can dance. and we watched the whole thing. how's that for love? he wanted to watch it with me, just so we could spend time together. then, we got up to go to bed. but he just stood there and held me in his arms. and then the tears came. how could i be so blessed to have him as my husband? the Lord knew i needed him and not anyone else.
i think back on how immensely blessed we have been since the moment we got engaged. really, since we started dating. he's something special, this man of mine. he has the work ethic i admire so much in my dad. and is so Christlike. and so forgiving. and always so happy. after church on sunday, he said, "i just want my wife to be happy." not in a woe-is-me-my-wife-is-always-unhappy sort of way, but in a happy way, wanting me to be happy. well, good. because that's all i want for him. for us. happiness. and when we're living the way the Lord wants us too, of course we are and will be happy. trials may come, but they pass, and they bring us closer together.
like that time that crazy good internship opportunity fell into our laps with just a few weeks notice. and he left for d.c. and i stayed here to teach and bring in some money. it was a huge leap of faith--it's not every day that a newlywed couple of 3.5 months has a husband leave for 3.5 months. and that's when i ached for him to hold me in his arms. his arms are irreplaceable. but that short time away brought us so many blessings in so many areas. we are so blessed. so, so blessed.
and those blessings haven't stopped. they just keep pouring in. just like our love keeps growing and growing. oh, this man of mine. incredible.
*end sap here.
