random thoughts & experiences for a friday night. + some photo booth pictures.

my boo has a big test in the morning. and he had to be at work at 6.30 am this morning...in salt lake...an hour away. so he woke up early. and he is tired. which leaves me writing this at 9.30 on a friday night. we did go out to dinner. and we do have a hot date tomorrow night.

here are some random thoughts and experiences i've had that have been running through my mind recently. with some photo booth pictures from e + b's wedding 2 weeks ago.

:our 10 cent lemonade stands. and someone would give us a dollar, a whole dollar bill, flat and crisp. and we would think it was the most amazing thing in the world. and run inside, "mom!  MOOOOOM!  someone just gave us a dollar!!! they didn't even want the change back!!!"  thank you, kind people, for making my elementary summer days pure heaven.

:.and our log-rides in the bathtub when we were little.

:..and our backyard olympics. with routines to "kids in america" from our "new wave hits of the 80s" cd that my dad had. that and "i want candy." erin was dominique moceanu {yeah, you bet i googled that spelling}. and i was keri strug. although, at heart i was dominique dawes. gosh, that hurt so bad when i broke my ankle. totally worth the gold medal, though. {what? was that really in 1996?!}

::today i drove by the MTC. there were some missionaries waiting at the light to cross the street. one of the boys in the car in front of me shot his arm out the window and gave a little fist pump. that's not that funny. the funny part was that about 4 missionaries returned the gesture. and then i laughed.

:::why are people so obsessed with diet coke? teachers are really obsessed with it. that, and chocolate. i've never tried diet coke. and i haven't had a soda in 7+ years. i do not like sodas.

::::also, why are people obsessed with cupcakes? i don't like cupcakes. although, the sweet tooth fairy makes a good pumpkin cupcake. which i kind of called them out on, because it was essentially pumpkin bread, or a pumpkin muffin which is pumpkin bread in a muffin tin, {which are so not cakey--bread or muffin} in a cupcake liner with cream cheese frosting on top. and the guy responded, "it's a cupcake because it has frosting on top." and then i said, "hmm. okay. i guess i like cupcakes if they are dessert breads/muffins with good, not gross frostings on top.

:::::vegetable juicing has become pretty trendy too. i just typed out then backspaced a huge rant about that. i'll spare you--just know, that i'm not a trendy juicer. i don't fall under that category. you can ask me about my personal beliefs on juicing and my nutritional perspective if you really want to know.

::::::today i was driving up a hill and this biker girl was riding her bike, rather cruising, down the hill. there were no cars on that side. and she had her arms up in a victory v. and i was dying. i should've fist pumped her.

:::::::why is watermelon so delicious? i don't care how bloated i get or how many months pregnant i look after eating a ton of watermelon, i just love it. and then 30 minutes later, i'm running to the restroom to relieve my watermelon-overloaded bladder.

::::::::a lot of people say, "GUESS WHAT?!?!" and before giving the person the chance to respond, they just say it, "i'm engaged!!" or "i got a job!!" or anything exciting like that. or sometimes it can be, "guess what..." and before giving the person the chance to respond, they just say, "i got fired." or "i'm sick." or any other dismal news. i just did this to steven. except mine was a "GUESS WHAT?!?!" and then i proceeded to tell him that we would be able to make italian ice in our vitamix. he just stood there laughing at me. and then he said, "what am i supposed to guess?"

:::::::::i made my summer to do list. then i realized that i don't want to do half of the things on the list. at all. i just want to do the fun ones, or the really necessary ones. i'm actually pretty excited about doing things for my classroom this summer. mostly because i have super cute decorations from e + b's wedding. don't worry, you'll see plenty of classroom pictures later in the summer.

::::::::::i keep one of my yoga mats in my car. i forgot mine once last summer and had a minor freakout when i arrived at the gym and noticed i forgot it at home. then i had to use one of the ones at the gym. yucky. now i keep my newer one in my car and my older one stays in my room for some daily yoga mini-sessions.

:::::::::::if you made it this far and actually read it, congrats. and my apologies that it was so long. and completely pointless. and humorless. sometimes i'm funny. but this one wasn't really.
