mail time.

dear movie people,
what's with all the "one time only, back in theaters in 3D"-ness?  you're smart because you're probably making a ton of money...and hitting the next generation, so kudos. i'm still not paying for it. netflix. and redbox.  and dvr. that is how we do.
your non-movie goer

p.s. i've seen 2 movies in the theaters in the past year and a half (ish). harry potter 7 part 1 and (drum roll)...harry potter 7 part 2. yeah. we don't get out much. and homemade popcorn is actually good and better for you than your nasty stuff which i haven't had in who knows how long. thanks.

dear class,
what.on.earth.is.going.on.in.your.little.brains/bodies?! you were cah-razy before halloween...thanksgiving...and especially christmas. did the break calm you down? no. why would it? i think it just pumped you up. i'm losing my mind. and you're wearing me out! this girl doesn't get worn out! OY VEY.
love, mrs. hopper

dear steven,
okay, okay, i know it's only one night this time and not like, um, 104 or whatever it was, but seriously, come home. i miss you. our bedroom is so cold.
love, your sweet wife

dear body,
i'm sorry i'm wearing you out. early gym. exhausting school days. not *quite* enough sleep, yeah, yeah, yeah. at least i've been crashing earlier these days. and i'm doing more yoga now rather than just on saturdays. and i'm juicing everyday (sometimes twice if i make a lot). you should love me for both of those things. also, i am sorry that i didn't really sit down for more than a car ride or hair cut until 6.30 pm today after over 12 hours. oh, and it's been 2 hours and i've hardly gotten up off the couch. at least i found some body combat videos online that i can do. hi-yah. and namaste.
love, your muscles. and brain. and qi (yoga qi).

dear whoever reads this blog (erin? just you?),
i'm sorry that it doesn't chronicle the hopper family as it should. truth is, we don't get out much. and when we do, you better believe it's on here [see disneyland a few posts back]. and i also apologize that it chronicles my school days. it's just that these kids are so darn cute and so darn funny and so darn "let's-see-if-mrs.-hopper-will-pull-her-hair-out-today." love it. anyway, i hope you enjoy those stories because i've got one for you down below to wrap it all up.
love, owner of this blog. me.

story of the day
i think all of my kids rolled out of bed today and said to themselves, "i think i am going to be very energetic today and get mrs. hopper to really go crazy, because she hasn't really crashed into that wall yet." i'm pretty sure that's what happened. we went to our computer time 10 minutes late. and that's my planning time. that's how out of control we were. so. one of my boys who is a little different socially, we'll call him bobby, went m.i.a. during our phonics lesson. how rude. it was such a riveting lesson on adding s to make words plural. riveting, obviously. so bobby sometimes just gets up and starts walking around and i said, "bobby, go sit down." i turned around to grab the worksheets and then we went over our answer written on our little whiteboards. then we go to the next slide in our powerpoint and i noticed bobby was m.i.a.  hmmm, "where did bobby go?"  "i don't know."  "did he go to the bathroom?"  then...out pops bobby from the pillows at our reading corner. "here i am!!!" lots of giggles. oh bobby.
and that was just the start to my day.
