first grade loves

do you know what i LOVE about first grade?

the following:

*everyone wants to use the pointer and point to words on a page

*likewise, everyone wants to hold up a picture or poster

*they're losing teeth like crazy. i have 2 with no front teeth, and more to come!

*they get super excited about seemingly unexcitable/uneventful things (like 1 minute extra recess!!)

*they will do ANYTHING to get a sticker, special activity point, table point, 3 skittles, a bucket filler (love this school-wide positive reinforcement / kindness/service theme we have.  see here.), etc. anything.

*they give me lots of little hugs.

*they LOVE school.

*they are so random.

*they want to share (and are usually willing to share) anything and everything with you...sometimes more than you want to know!

*they laugh at silly things (but don't usually get my jokes--too much for them).

*we get to sing LOTS of songs. i wake up singing different songs about the days of the week, months of the year, short vowels, long vowels, alphabet, nursery rhymes, etc. i LOVE it.

*I get to sing whenever i want, even though it is pretty much only  alphabet songs and the like (see above).

*the have the cutest, toothless smiles.

*i get to act like a kid, too.

LOVE IT.
