The Hopper Family: kenley chronicles: 2 weeks!

i can't believe our baby is 2 weeks!

actually, 2 1/2 weeks.

we love her so much and love watching her grow.

although, she is growing much faster than we prefer. she didn't ask us.

most babies take 2 weeks to get back to their birth weight {which would be 6.9}. not kenley. she got to her birth weight + 9 oz, weighing in at 7.2 at her 2 week appointment. and we were so worried about her size in the womb! girlfriend knows what's up: food is good.

kenley is a funny little baby.

we love watching her facial expressions and listening to her little noises as she's sleeping and feeding.

when she isn't doing one of those, she has her beautiful eyes open and looks around.

she is very aware of her surroundings.

she is pretty strong, too. she loves to be held upright against your chest.

and when you do that, kenley really works on those neck muscles of hers--holding her head up, and even bobs it sometimes.

girlfriend has a strong neck! she will hold it up for quite some time. and we haven't even started tummy time yet!! {still waiting for that ol' cord of hers to fall out!}

i love, love, love taking little naps with kenley on my chest. she is so funny and lifts her neck and will move it to the side. then do it again. and again. she adjusts until she's perfectly content and comfortable. so cute! daddy might love this even more, and definitely gets to do it more than i do--it's so cute to watch them!

i sing to kenley every night. she loves it. our favorites so far are:

{the lullaby mary poppins sings to jane & michael. gosh, i love that movie.}

we were so lucky to have my dad and dana come up this weekend. they hadn't met either baby yet. it was so fun to see them with the babies. especially my dad with his grandbabies. {sorry dana. you were cute with them, too.}

finn was blessed on sunday. mike gave him a beautiful blessing. it was a wonderful sight to see the men in our family using their Priesthood to give finn a name and a blessing in the church. i am anxious for steven to give kenley her blessing.
