awkward & awesome

cool clouds on the y. [zoomed in on my iphone.]

awkward

-ironing in my living room while watching ellen and looking out the window to see a guy standing on our balcony railing! he lives above us and by the quick loud thumping footsteps that followed his ascent up to the next balcony, i'm guessing his roommates locked him out. good thing i had clothes on.

-construction in front of the apartment. like major construction. and having to drive in and out of it seeing those same hard-hatted workers. but mostly, the awkward part is running buy them. also, they started at 7am this morning. it's sunday. 7am construction in provo on a sunday. odd.

-the barren dirt field i drive by when i go to the gym [for classes]. tuesday it was bare. friday morning there was a small plot of about 30 fir trees of various size and a sign that said, "discount trees."  mm. good. because i am ready to buy my christmas tree. or transplant it to my fake stoned balcony and let it develop into a beautiful christmas tree for christmas time.

-running outside in the cold clears my sinuses. you know, like loosens the mucus. so my nose gets drippy. i can't just let it drip down my face. and i'm not going to be like one of my 2nd graders last year and eat it [sick. i just threw up a little.] so i wipe it on my sleeve. nbd. i wash it after. but it's pretty sick. and awkward. mostly awkward that i'm sharing this with the few people that read this.

awesome

-spinach smoothies. yes.

{a tiny bit of plain yogurt,
a lemon, and 2 handfuls
of spinach [+ some ice and water].
it's actually delightful.
sometimes i put a few slices
of banana in it, if i'm feeling brave.
and by brave, i mean, i have a banana
 out to make my banana pancakes.}

-steven having only 1 final left!!!

-spring break this past week!!

-hunger games. love. movie? pretty good. i won't go into detail because you might stop reading this blog. but i liked it. i loved the book 2359 times more. almost done with book 2.

-6 weeks of school left!! i just need to get through it!

-the Boswells showing up with some fruit juice on our door step and then saying, "we made juice for you!! really we were just trying to think of an excuse to come over." please, like they need an excuse.

-the elephant writing unit we're starting tomorrow. we're tapping into non-fiction writing, research, writing process, and science. pretty pumped. and i know my kids are going to be out of control excited. love them.

school again tomorrow. wa wa wa.
