-date night thursday night [dinner and errands] and we're driving in the car. i have a shirt to be returned on my lap. i'm looking at steven. shirt slides off my lap. i see something move in my peripheral vision. i jump. i look down. just my shirt. steven asks what happened. "nothing, i just thought there was an animal or something but it was just my shirt falling." hmmm...and then he wonders who he married.
-walking backwards so i can look at my line of 23 first graders as we're walking up to the theater for our field trip. i'm pretty good at this. and then...i tripped on the curb. 23 first graders? nbd. but the dad that was there to help out. hmm...and then he wonders who is teaching his son how to read.
-i have the LDS Gospel Library app on my phone. it's like all of the scriptures and lesson manuals and hymns and magazines and all that jazz in one place. it even has a play button so you can listen to the scriptures. you know what a play button looks like. that little side triangle. well, i may have accidentally pressed it thinking it was a "forward/next page" button [because that's what the one on the internet looks like.] FAIL. steven's sister was teaching her lesson. and there were only like 15 people in the room. so, yeah. and i couldn't get out of it because i pushed the "home" button [you know, the circle one for the home screen]and it keeps reading because the app is still running in the background! "oh sorry! i obviously don't know how to use my phone!" and don't worry. before you think that's awkward, i'll tell you that this was the THIRD time, did you hear me? THE THIRD TIME that it has happened to me. all 3 times in church.
-yeah, when i pulled into target or costco or sunflower last week and stopped in a parking spot only to have the man next to me start reversing from his. let me tell you, i totally had this confused, worried look on my face and pushed the break, even though i was already in park. i thought my car was moving. if the man saw me, he would've that i was 16 years old. rightfully so.
awesome
-the things my kids at school say. oh my goodness. here we go.
-my sweet little crazy boy came back to the classroom from pe. he grabbed a piece of paper, sat down and said "i need to write down all of my jobs so i don't forget them in the morning and have to do 50 pushups!" then we had a little conversation and i challenged him to 50 pushups in a roundabout way. okay, i didn't get down and do them--just him. so he did like 30. the first 10 had great form. then he was like, "here i'll count them!" so he did. to 30. that kid did like 60 pushups. so funny.
-same kid. told me his dad turned 13 yesterday. "30?" "no THIR-TEEN."
-my other crazy little girl was reading the story "wilfrid gordon mcdonald partridge" yesterday. it is such a cute story. i love everything about it. so i ask her some comprehension questions, one being, "what does wilfrid find out about memories? what's a memory?" "something you remember." "good, what else did he find out?" "hmmm" with a super quizzical, are you crazy sista?! look on her face. so i prompt her. and she says "something you remember. like, when you're 2 years old and your foot gets stuck in the toilet." and i kind of laughed and asked, "did that happen to you?" and she says, "yeah. my mom was potty training me and my foot got stuck." and i lost it. you have to know this little girl and you would totally understand.
-the super awesome weather provo has had this winter, especially this week. okay, tuesday and wednesday were bleh. but sunday--60 degrees. and monday--66 degrees?! what the extra recess? man i was giving out class points like water because i wanted to get those kids [and myself] out of the classroom and into the sweet sunshine. and today is amazing. perfect weather. like short sleeves weather.
-driving with the windows rolled down.
-acting silly with my boo. we laugh a lot.
-having a water chugging contest with steven. he totally one because i overloaded my first and couldn't swallow it i was laughing so hard and then i looked at him and barely made it to the sink without spitting it all over the floor.
((apologies for my lengthy posts. just be glad you aren't sitting next to me. i'd talk your ears off.))
